Adhesive Compounders (ACI) is an independently-owned industrial adhesive manufacturer and custom adhesive formulator serving a wide range of customers and applications.
Founded in 1971 by Robert (Bob) True, Adhesive Compounders Inc. (ACI) has been a trusted name in industrial adhesive manufacturing for over five decades. Initially under Bob's leadership until 1996, the company transitioned to employee ownership and continues to operate independently, fostering a culture of dedication and innovation.
ACI specializes in formulating both hot melt and water-based adhesives tailored to a diverse range of applications. Our commitment to adaptability and responsiveness ensures we meet the evolving needs of our customers while maintaining some of the shortest lead times in the industry.
Our fully-equipped laboratory, staffed with experienced chemists, enables us to test and develop adhesives that meet specific client requirements. Over the years, we've crafted solutions for a multitude of applications, continually enhancing our product line to align with industry advancements and customer demands.

Ross Holmes
Ross Holmes brings over two decades of leadership experience to his role as President and CEO of Adhesive Compounders Inc. A 14-year veteran of the United States Air Force, Ross served multiple tours across the Middle East and Southeast Asia in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His time in the military instilled in him a mission-oriented mindset, operational discipline, and a commitment to excellence that continue to define his leadership style.
After transitioning into the private sector, Ross joined ACI as Executive Vice President of Operations, where he led key initiatives in product development, supply chain efficiency, and technical service innovation. His efforts were instrumental in expanding ACI’s national reach, improving lead times, and reducing freight costs for customers. In 2022, Ross was named CEO, where he now focuses on scaling the company’s distribution model, deepening customer partnerships, and advancing ACI’s position in the adhesives market.

Jeff Smith
With nearly three decades of experience in the adhesives industry, Jeff Smith began his career at Ato-Findley (now Bostik) in 1996, specializing in packaging and assembly solutions. His foundational years there provided a deep technical understanding of adhesive technologies and their industrial applications. He went on to serve as Business Development Manager at Helmitin Adhesives, where he led growth initiatives across the office furniture, residential furniture, countertop, and cabinetry sectors. Building on this expertise, Jeff successfully operated his own adhesive distribution business for 20 years, serving a wide range of manufacturing clients. In 2022, he became a co-owner of Adhesive Compounders Inc., where he now focuses on driving innovation, custom formulation, and long-term client partnerships.
